We are seeking to employ Staff Nurses to support the continued
provision and development of dynamic, meaningful, person-centred
opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities in our Day
Services.
SUITABLE CANDIDATES MUST:
* Be on the current register as maintained by An Bord Altranais /
NMBI
* RNID qualification preferable
* Assessments for non-nursing personnel may be part of this role
* Experience working with adults with an Intellectual Disability
with an excellent understanding of the health, social and emotional
needs of these individuals desirable
* Have experience/knowledge of Positive Behavioural Support
* Experience working with Multi-Disciplinary Teams (i.e.)
Psychology, Behavioural Support desirable
* Commitment to deliver all aspects of care and support through a
Person Centred Planning Approach
* Experience with Peg Feeding advantageous
* Demonstrate a commitment to promoting the rights of people with
disabilities
* Full clean driving licence (willingness to drive as part of role
is essential). We may consider candidates who are planning or in the
process of obtaining a full manual licence.

Children?s Respite Service

We are recruiting for the above position providing support to children
with intellectual disabilities in our Children?s Respite Services,
Angel?s Quest.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who?s passionate about
young children and interested in providing opportunities for children
with ID to develop their full potential in a compassionate and child
centred environment.
Sometimes families need a break and sometimes children need a chance
to play with their friends and have a sleepover or a holiday. We have
a purpose built children?s respite centre on our campus in
Glenageary, providing a welcome break for families, and fun and
development for children. This is a hugely rewarding role for someone
interested in working in a dynamic yet hospitable service.
This post provides therapeutic interventions, practical support, and
nursing support where appropriate to meet the needs of the individual
children/young people.
A guideline of typical hours over a 2 week period is;

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
* Be on the current register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of
Ireland and preferably RNID trained
* Assessments for non-nursing personnel may be part of this role
* Have a strong interest and /or experience in working with children
with an intellectual disability and their families.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal, organisational
and initiative skills.
* Understanding of POMS, Advocacy, Human Rights and Risk Management
concepts.
* Have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of National Standards
for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities and
relevant legislation pertinent to support of children.
* Demonstrate sound knowledge and social model practice in support
of children;
* Full clean driving licence and willingness to drive as part of
role is essential; _allowances may be made if candidates agree to
achieve this within 6 months of employment_
